Scuba Diving is Fun for Everyone

Hello Blog Readers,

I warmly welcome you all.

Before I start my discussions, let me introduce - Tank Titan (Dive Tank Storage And Transportation Unit)

They were developed after we heard a number of recreation divers, commercial divers, and everyday boaters in south Florida tell them that they wish there was a better way to bring 4 – 6 dive tanks on their boats.

Tank Titan Team decided to design a rugged, durable, light weight, and boat friendly tank holder, that could be used on virtually any boat, and be easy to store.

Over the course of 2 years we were able to partner with a company that could construct our product out of a heavy duty “P.V.C. Blend” material.

I already joined their team at Twitter | Google Plus | Facebook

A modern scuba tank looks almost nothing like its ancient predecessors. Mankind has been trying to explore the water since the time of the ancient Greeks, and possibly even before that. However, it was the Greeks that receive credit for implementing the idea of taking air underwater with you. They did so in the first millennia BC.

Scuba tanks are made of typically two materials, either steel or aluminum. Aluminum tanks are generally mostly used as they are cheaper, but there disadvantage is they are made up of a softer metal than steel tanks and for that reason they are more likely to damage due to rough or careless handling.

Generally the aluminum tanks have a life of around 15 years compared to steel tanks that will last for double that life for up to 30 years. If you buying a new tank then that is not a issue.

Diving cylinders are made in two types: Aluminum tanks and Steel tanks. There's not much difference between the two other than the obvious fact that they are made out of different metals. Aluminum tanks are the most common in the world and since they are more cost efficient, especially compared to steel tanks, they can be found at almost any dive resort or scuba rental shops. They are much lighter than steel tanks which make it easier to carry around.

The steel tanks come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They have better buoyancy characteristics compared to aluminum tanks as they do not float at the end of the dive. You do not have to spend more effort in counter-weighting them as you would with the aluminum tanks since they are already naturally heavy. If well maintained, the steel tanks last way longer than aluminum and is said to keep working for decades.

Scuba tanks last up to years if well maintained having you save money for the other scuba equipment which you need to purchase or replace. Both types of scuba tanks can last up to ten years and over, regardless of whether it is steel or aluminum.

It easy for you to determine which tank you should use for the type of diving you are planning to do and they come in different sizes with different volume capacities and pressure designed for people with different breathing capabilities.

Every scuba diver needs a scuba diving tank in any dive that involves staying underwater for a long period of time. If you're a frequent diver then it would be cheaper for you to actually own a diving tank rather than renting one several times. Proper maintenance is all that is required to keep your tank lasting for years and years. It is easy to pick out which scuba diving tank will suit you and your bodily limits. The cost is very reasonable as the life periods for diving tanks are very lengthy.
